185 Years of Clarity and Courage!

It began with a partially cleared plot of land with a brush arbor and rough boards for pews. This humble place of worship brought together enslaved men and women from surrounding plantations 185 years ago.

On Friday, March 27, 2026, the Big Pineville AME Zion Church is hosting a great celebration, “In Clear View: 185 Years of Clarity and Courage!” This celebratory gala brings both congregation and community together, honoring history and enlarging legacy. This special evening includes a unique blend of participants who have a wide variety of experiences, a sincere commitment to community, and a great love for service.

Set in the elegant Ministry Center at The Big Pineville AME Zion Church , guests will hear an inspiring word from our Keynote Speaker, Rev. Dr. Jamal Harrison Bryant – Senior Pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, experience the talents of award-winning musical artists, and receive several souvenir items. This evening of elegance will offer attendees a distinguished photo shoot area, a mocktail pre-reception, and a complimentary copy of “The Big Idea: When God Impregnates Your Imagination“.
